Irresistable Subjects

A photographer can show the world as it is.  The artist, however, can show the world as he would like it to be.  While Robert Lyn Nelson is adept at portraying the creatures of the ocean as accurately as anyone before him, there are times when he creates living still lifes from the elements with which he is so familiar.  Irresistible Subjects is such a painting.  Here we have a green sea turtle, a moon jelly and moorish idols all perfectly arranged around a perfectly placed coral formation.  Nature may not always arrange her subjects with such a balance eye, but an artist like Nelson can, creating a perfect moment in time that may not ever have actually existed.
