A Rose is a rose is a rose...” the poet said.  In this painting Robert is portraying the many ways that beauty can be expressed.  The world will alsways need artists to call our attention to things that the rest of us may not see at first.  Whether it is painting, poetry or music, art is the way that we express that thing that makes us different from any creature on earth, our ability to celebrate the beauty of the world around us.  This is a wonderfully executed, simply beautful still life.
